Organizational Overview
The Alameda County
Library Foundation was formed in 1996 by a group of civic-minded
community leaders to provide supplemental financial support for the
Alameda County Library in a time of decreasing public funding. People
from all walks of life and numerous businesses, foundations and
organizations sustain the work of the Foundation through financial
contributions and active involvement in its activities.
Since its inception, the Foundation has donated over $6 million to the
Alameda County Library and has helped make dozens of programs and
activities possible throughout the East Bay-all designed to bring
the mind-expanding and life-changing power of the Library to all corners and people of our diverse community.
