Ways You Can Help

For almost a decade, libraries throughout the Golden State have suffered significant cutbacks in funding. Support given to the Alameda County Library Foundation by generous individuals, foundations, businesses and other organizations has made a critical difference in the Library's ability to serve our community.

Here are some of the ways you can help:

Contributions
Estate Planning
Legacy Founders Society
Volunteering

Contributions to the Foundation

Say "Yes" to supporting the Library and investing in your community. Your tax-deductible contribution can help the Library sustain and enhance services to over 500,000 cardholders as well as countless others who benefit from Library programs and activities. Become a Library Foundation sponsor and receive these benefits:

  • $50 ACLF Member: Receive a special Library Sponsor Card.

  • $100 Reader's Circle: All of the above plus a subscription to the Foundation newsletter and your name listed in the Newsletter "Honor Roll."

  • $250 Literary Circle: All of the above, plus a special library tote bag.

  • $500 Associate Circle: All of the above, plus commemorative bookplate placed in a library book to honor someone of your choice.

  • $1,000 Authors Circle: All of the above, plus Invitation to a private breakfast with County Librarian and a special gift book from the County Librarian.

Estate Planning

Including the Foundation in your estate plan is one way to ensure its work will continue today and benefit generations to come. ACLF has established the Legacy Founders Society to recognize generous individuals who have made a gift through their will, gift annuity, life insurance policy, pooled income fund or through any other estate planning method.

To receive more information, contact Tiona Smith, Executive Director, at 510-745-1542.

Legacy Founders Society

The Alameda County Library Foundation established the Legacy Founders Society to thank generous donors who have decided to contribute to the Library through their will, gift annuity, life insurance policy, pooled income fund or other estate planning tool. Regardless of the size of your estate, we hope you too will consider this method as a way to contribute. In addition to the peace of mind that planning ahead brings, some benefits of joining our Legacy Founders Society include:

  • The satisfaction of providing much-needed support for Alameda County Library for generations to come.

  • An invitation to the Annual Legacy Founders Society Receptions.

  • A gold-embossed Certificate of Membership.

  • Listing in the Foundation’s newsletter (unless anonymity is requested).

  • Invitation to special “members-only” events.

Please contact us at 510-745-1542 for more information.

Volunteering

Volunteers are the powerhouses behind the scenes who make the Foundation's work possible. Consider volunteering for one of the many ACLF committees or joining the ACLF Board. Other ways you can help include assistance with office work, volunteering to assist with special events and serving on a committee.

Call the Foundation at 510-745-1542 or email volunteers@aclf.org for more information on volunteer opportunities.
